Who is this program for?

The University of Victoria s Certificate in Adult and Continuing Education (CACE) is an award-winning instructor training program that will help you increase your confidence and enhance your effectiveness as a:

The certificate is designed for those already working in the profession rather than for those entering it. Contact the CACE office if you re not sure whether or not you qualify.

Courses are offered on campus at the University of Victoria on weekdays, weekends, during the summer and online. Learning is accessible to part-time learners outside working hours and courses can be taken individually or applied toward the professional certificate program.

Program outcomes

Upon completing the CACE program, graduates will be able to:

Admission requirements

It is recommended that participants have completed secondary school and possess a minimum of three years experience working in adult or continuing education. If you do not meet these requirements but have appropriate and equivalent education and work experience then we still encourage you to apply.

Completion requirements

In order to complete the CACE program, a student needs to complete the four required courses, and a minimum of 4.0 credits of elective coursework (1.0 credits = 39 instructional hours). Elective courses may be either 0.5 or 1.0 credits, depending on the course. Please see the individual course pages for more details.
